Tiffany Mikkelson | Owner & Partner
Tiffany was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi where she graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After college, Tiffany attended and graduated cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law in 2005. While in law school, Tiffany was a member of Law Review and a Moot Court Board Member. Following law school, Tiffany clerked at the Mississippi Supreme Court for Justice Jess H. Dickinson for one year prior to accepting a job with one of the largest law firms in Mississippi. In late 2007, Tiffany and her family, moved to the Bluffton area where Tiffany maintained a small solo practice on a part-time basis handling primarily Family Law matters. In 2009, Tiffany became the Executive Attorney at Lowcountry Legal Volunteers out of her desire and commitment to ensure equal access to justice for low-income residents of the local communities. During the years of service at Legal Volunteers, Tiffany gained tremendous experience representing hundreds of clients in the Family Court on a wide range of legal issues including divorce, separation, custody, visitation, child support modification, adoption, and birth certificate corrections. Tiffany joined Mikkelson Law Firm in 2015. Tiffany and Ryan were married in 2004 and they have five children together- Walker, Mollie and Mason, Audrey and Grady. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Law Firm, Tiffany also stays busy by volunteering at the children’s school, as well as carpooling the children to baseball, tennis, swim, dance, gymnastics, and other various sporting activities. |
Donald Besecker |Attorney at Law
Donald was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from East Carolina University in 2013. He also received a Master of Business Administration in 2014 from East Carolina University. Donald chose to continue his education at Florida State University College of Law. In 2018, he received his Juris Doctor Cum Laude. He conducted a Judicial Internship with County Court Judge Marvin Blount in Pitt County, North Carolina. Donald relocated to the Bluffton area to be near his family as he began his law career. Erica Ellis |Attorney at Law Erica graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2010. Erica began her legal career as Judicial Clerk to a Circuit Court Judge in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Throughout her eight years of private practice, Erica has gained valuable experience in civil and domestic litigation, commercial, and residential real estate transactions, probate administration, and estate planning. Erica focuses on assisting clients through life and business planning, probate administration, and real estate closings. Almost everyone will need a real estate, business or estate planning attorney during their lifetime, and Erica seeks to provide transparency and high-quality advocacy in the legal process surrounding these areas of the law, so clients feel comfortable and informed. Erica is a mother of two daughters and is married to Zach Ellis from Tifton, Georgia. She was a Moot Court Bar Member and won the CALI Award (American Jurisprudence) in Criminal Procedure. She received her B.A. in English and Philosophy, also from the University of South Carolina, in 2007. Her real estate and estate planning experience centered around maintaining an approachable, non-intimidating relationship with the client, coincides with the Mikkelson Law Firm’s mission – “Knowing Our Community and Clients As We Help to Navigate Life’s Trials.” Her professionalism and focus on community involvement make her a natural fit to join Mikkelson Law Firm. |
